Maria will lead you specifically through each exercise today, guiding you to dive even deeper into body awareness through conscious breathing. This will not only strengthen and shape your body, but also improve your mental clarity.

The goal of this Pilates class is to take advanced students back to the basics and to introduce beginners to the fascination of the versatility of Pilates.

Our program for this Pilates lesson:

At the beginning Maria guides you through movements that let you arrive at peace with yourself. This reduces the release of stress hormones such as cortisol while increasing the release of endorphins and serotonin.

In the main part exercises await you that require your attention and concentration. Through this targeted focus during the training, you also train your neuronal brain cells, which is also noticeable in everyday life. You will soon feel how you become mentally more and more present and efficient.

At the end Maria leads us through breathing exercises to give you a better understanding of nasal breathing. You can find the background to this in her book recommendation by James Nestor "Breath".

The breathing exercises are designed to help supply the body with the right amount of oxygen and at the same time eliminate harmful substances. Along the way, blood pressure is lowered and the mind is calmed.

Conclusion: Regular Pilates training therefore keeps you fit not only physically but also mentally.

  • Training mat
  • Towel
  • A small cushion
  • Yoga blocks
  • Massage ball
  • Flex tape

Preparation for the Pilates lesson:

  • Ventilate the room before training.
  • Prepare a cup of tea.
  • Create a positive atmosphere in the room - e.g. candle, good scent, fine background music.
  • Move cell phone, laptop, TV out of sight, hearing and reach.
